Interview: Carson Serino, Serino Cigars - 2:00pm-2:45pm

OUR STORY:

The Wayfarer blend was first conceptualized on a three week backpacking trip Carson Serino took to Iceland. While abroad Carson was searching for cigars because what’s a good adventure without a fine smoke. Upon visiting shops in the Nordic country he quickly realized the selection was small and mainly consist of the Cuban staples. Over the following weeks his love for the Cuban profile was reignited. Upon returning stateside he quickly booked a trip to the La Corona Factory in Nicaragua to begin the Wayfarer blending project a documentation of all his favorite cigars from the trip. Wayfarer was blended in five traditional Cuban vitola’s with each vitola using unique Cuban style caps. The Corona Gorda sports a triple cap, the Robusto a Perilla cap, and the Toro uses a 109 cap. The blend consists of Esteli and Jalapa, Nicaragua fillers and is garnished in an oily Ecuadorian Corojo ‘99 wrapper. They Wayfarer also has Dalia and Corona sizes. The blend illuminated through its medium body showcasing notes of nuts, earth, leather, cinnamon, and slight milk chocolate finish. [1]

Interview: Pierre Rogers, PuroTrader - 2:45pm-3:30pm

Purotrader was created by two aficionados to bring more transparency and access to the global cigar market. The aim of the site is to educate connoisseurs, stimulate conversation and more importantly monitor market trends within the industry. Pierre hails from a sleepy town in the Mt. Washington Valley, where the value of hard work and resilience is ingrained from an early age. That bit of New England salt and necessity sparked the idea for PuroTrader while searching for a replacement box of cigars. He now lives on the West Coast with his family, continuing to enjoy the nostalgic quality a cigar brings to a busy life. “The best thing about smoking a cigar is it makes you sit down and enjoy the moment.” Soroosh can be described as a true Bostonian with the polish of a Southern gentleman. While he traveled extensively as a kid, he spent most of his formative years in Georgia making his way and eventually his home in Boston. Having spent many years in academia studying a mix of music and science, he is no stranger to the extraordinary pace life can expect. In his opinion true relaxation is a sought after commodity and a good cigar is the epitome of such. [2]
